Cicely Mary Barker was born in Croydon, South london in 1895 and died in 1973. Owing to ill health she was educated at home and largely taught herself to draw and paint. during long wanderings sheobserved nature and created the "Flower Fairies" for the pleasure of many people. In 1923 they were published for the first time in six volumes by a London puplisher and brought her international acclaim as an artist. |
